A great crowd came out to celebrate Tri-County Electric’s 90th Anniversary at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Gamaliel Elementary School in Gamaliel, Kentucky.

The lucky winner of the $100 to start the meeting was Brenda Miller. Jeff Downing, District F (Fountain Run) Director, welcomed everyone to the meeting, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by the Gamaliel Elementary School Beta Club. Layken Ennis, sung the National Anthem beautifully, followed by the Invocation from Kyle Sircy, V.P. – CFO. The Reading of Notice and Proof of Mailing, along with the approving the previous minutes, was handled by Board Attorney Greg Traylor.

Glenn Hale, Tri-County Electric CEO, thanked the members for their attendance. He welcomed our guests, discussed what electricity has done for all of our communities and the incredible changes over the past 90 years. He touched on Winter Storm Fern and how it impacted our entire service territory. Glenn was proud to report that with all Tri-County Electric employees, mutual aid from 67 crews, municipal electric utilities, and electrical contractors, all work was completed without a single lost time accident. He ended his remarks by saying, “as we celebrate this 90th anniversary, let us honor the past, take pride in the present, and look forward to the future with confidence. The best is yet to come.”

Kids and adults alike were able to take bucket truck rides and get their pictures drawn by one of the two caricaturists available. The Tri-County Electric Safety Trailer was set up, demonstrating the importance of safety with electricity.

Several door prizes were awarded at the end of the meeting, including the Grand Prize won by member-owner Roy Swindle from Macon County, Tennessee. Tri-County Electric gave a tool set to each person in attendance and each child was given a Tri-County Electric T-Shirt. Everyone enjoyed the refreshments provided and served by Jaydee’s BBQ and the Gamaliel Elementary School Beta Club.

A very special thanks goes to Jessica McPherson, Principal of Gamaliel Elementary School and her staff. We appreciate being able to hold our annual meeting at GES and the great hospitality shown to Tri-County Electric employees and members.

In addition to cash prizes, two iPads were given away in the children’s drawing. Maddie Coffee and Allison Copass both took an iPad home this year.

Officers elected were President Mark Linkous, District E (Edmonton); Vice-President, Travis Carter, District W (Westmoreland); Secretary-Treasurer, Mike Miller, District S (Scottsville).
